Sunday's premiere of the much anticipated So You Think You Can Dance Australia attracted a peak audience of 2.15m.

TEN's chief programming officer, David Mott, said: "So You Think You Can Dance Australia has quick-stepped its way into the hearts of millions as last night's ratings confirm.

"We're confident we have a hit on our hands and Australians will continue to turn on in droves to relish this type of high-spirited, energetic dance fun."

One thing that points to Dance Australia's continuing success is that fact that the ratings increased throughout its one hour 45-minute run - an indication that viewers liked what they saw and kept watching.

Commenting on The Biggest Loser performance, Mr Mott concluded: "The show which lives and dies on big numbers - in weight loss and ratings - has the ingredients to be another success story in its third season."
